The artist

In May 2000, Michèle Chaux passes the entrance exam to Annecy’s Art School and at the same time asks her employer for some time off : she’s a nurse…

She signs up at an art workshop and learns different techniques. Once having a better knowledge of paint brushes and palette knives, her choice is made : it will be acrylic and a palette knife.

She loves working on form, the impression left by the knife, the shadows and light caught by the relief.

Hard work and practice will do the rest. She finds her style, loves surrounding her subject and colours similar to a mosaic. A nature lover, she attentively observes all around her and finds unpredictable tonalities.

Michèle Chaux, thus, expresses life, creativity, her love of painting.
After a surprising first view quickly follows the desire to discover more : colour outlined as if to better hold it in or the force or violence of the knife mastered by the softness and gentleness of the stroke.

A mosaic of life where all its multiple and individual sides interact… Energy captured in nature at the moment on sunrise, trees waiting for spring, impatient buds, men and women adorned in bright garments...

Another vision, an amazingly fresh view….perhaps, another way to see that and those who surround us, beyond the visible……
